Service Description
Many authors believe their book has a cinematic quality that would translate well into film or TV. But how do you market a book to the film industry? Let one of our professional screenwriters turn your book into a film ‘treatment’.
A treatment is the industry standard document that showcases an idea, script or book as a film. If an author wants to get the attention of a production company or film studio, they really need one of these. In short, it’s a tangible and more visual synopsis of the work for movie people.
We have two screenwriters that work with us, one is in Hollywood and the other is based in London and has written top dramas for the likes of the BBC and ITV.
How it works
If you believe there is a film in your book, our script consultant will read your book from cover to cover and turn it into a multi-page film treatment.
If you think there is a TV programme in your book, you will have a meeting with us and our TV production consultants to discuss how you see the show working. We will then turn your book into a format for TV production companies and commissioners.
Good to know
- You don’t need to write a screenplay of your book to get film companies interested – in fact quite the opposite. Scriptwriting is a particular skill separate to writing a book and many producers have screenwriters they work with regularly, they might want them to adapt your book.
- If you want to submit your book to film and TV companies, you need one of these.
